What to do next?

This section contains help for the first part of iForest. Beyond that, you need to figure it out yourself, or send an email to ask what to do next. Remember to describe which area you're in, and exactly what the problem is.

What should I do when I start the game?

Just walk around and explore. You can read about the forest area to give you an idea where there is to go.

How do I get past the gate to the big house?

You can't at first. You need to explore some other areas first. Once you've found the Baron you will be able to get into the house. The key to success lies both in the old church in the forest, and at the top of the waterfall.

How do I get into the shopping mall?

The security guard won't let you in unless you've had your hand stamped. You can get your hand stamped at the tourist information booth in the forest. Head east out of Forestown until you're one location past the "You are now leaving Forestown" sign. Then go south as far as you can, and then go east.

Why won't the fairy let me walk up the path into the hills?

You need to show that you've got the hang of the game and mastered the controls. The way to do this is to help the wolf in the forest who has a thorn in his paw. The wolf is usually near the stream at the north of the clearing where a tourist is camping. If you examine the wolf, you will find the thorn and pull it out.

How do I get into the house at the top of the valley?

There's a key about somewhere. I can't tell you exactly where, as somebody else has probably picked it up. It's not essential to go into the house, but there should be some useful stuff in there. It is also a good safe place to go to sleep.

How do I climb the tall tree? What's up there?

You need the appropriate skill stone to be able to climb. You can tell what a skill stone does by examining it. If it's got a picture of some water, it probably lets you swim. If it's got a picture of a tree, it probably lets you climb.

There is some useful stuff up the tree, including the forest's game marker.

People keep taking all my stuff when I go to sleep. How can I stop them?

There is no way to stop people taking things from you while you are asleep. However, if you find somewhere safe to sleep, there is a good chance that nobody will find you.

If you find somewhere to sleep that is behind a locked door, and you have the key, there is even less chance of them finding you. Of course, after a while the fairies will put a duplicate key into the game, but you will be safe for a few hours.

I'd like to interact with some other players, but it's not very busy at the moment.

The busiest times seem to be at the weekends, especially in the evening. The playing area is so large that most competent players are spread out quite thinly. There is usually a pile of sleeping players not far from the start.
